- Massachusetts – Contractor Registration- Size 35,000 cubic feet+; Exam required
- Minnesota – Contractor Registration; no fee
- Montana – Contractor Registration- contracts $2,500+; workers compensation
- Nebraska – Non-resident contractors registered
- New Jersey – Home Improvement Contractor
- North Dakota – Contractor Registration- contracts $2,000+
- Oklahoma – Non-resident contractors registered when contract is $100,000+; Bond required
- Oregon – Contractor Registration; $20,000 surety bond
- Pennsylvania – Home Improvement Contractor
- Rhode Island – Contractor Registration
- Washington – Contractor Registration; $6,000 surety bond
- West Virginia – Non-resident contractors registered- contracts $2500+; $6000 Bond required
- Wisconsin – Non-resident contractors registered with DOR when contract is $50,000+; Bond required
