Do you need a Contractor License in Florida?

Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR)

All Contractor licenses in Florida are regulated by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). Exams are administered by Pearson Vue. An applicant can register for the exam by visiting the Pearson Vue website. Exams do not require pre-approval.

Electrical Contractors Licensing Board (ECLB)

Electrical, Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm, Limited Energy and Electrical Specialty licenses are reviewed and approved by the ECLB. The board meets every other month at locations throughout the State of Florida. Applications must be submitted by a certain deadline to be reviewed at the upcoming board meeting. Reciprocity: Florida has reciprocity with North Carolina for Unlimited Electrical and Low Voltage Licenses. Florida will also accept an Electrical C-10 license from California. NCL can assist you with the Following Classifications of Licensing:
